MS Outlook is one of the most widespread
email applications in the entire world. However as an Outlook user, it is known
about all the common issues which keep on coming up every now and then in MS
Outlook. Even sometimes the PST file corruption creates some unwanted and unexpected
troubles. This issue sometimes comes regularly and thus it creates a difficulty
in accessing the PST file smoothly.
Among all the errors, one such error is
CRC error, i.e. cyclic redundancy error. This error occurs when users transfers
PST file from one system to other system. That is when the PST file is moved to
somewhere from its original place where it was created. Even CRC error occurs
due to some other reasons also. You may get the below mentioned error:
“PST could not be accessed…Cyclic
redundancy check.”
Solutions
to resolve the CRC error:
The reason behind such error can
probably be the PST file corruption or the destination where it is transferred
was already having some minor corruption issue. However to solve the issue, you
should do the following:
- Be sure that the location where you are saving the PST file is free from any sort of issues. To make sure, you can try copying the PST to NUL.
- If there is problem at the location where the file is saved, then you need to repair it. Just go to Start -> Run and run chkdsk command with the help of ‘/f’ switch.
- However, if the Inbox repair tool does not give the desired results then you should use the commercial PST recovery utility to disinfect the PST file.
